I think its in no small part down to the fact that the computer was originally supplied with Windows 8.1 and a whole lot of other crud PC manufactures insist on sticking on their machines, that you don't want or need, in much the same way mobile phone manufactures and networks insist on customising/skinning Android to 'add value'. I now have a pure install of Windows 10 without the crud and its much faster.
I've been taking a ruthless approach to de-cluttering my PC, only reinstalling software I actually use or need. There was clearly a lot of stuff on there, that had just been sitting there for months gathering digital dust, hogging up valuable resources for no good purpose. The general rule of thumb is that if you haven't used it or six months you don't really want or need it. I know someone who would be very happy if I could apply that principle to my stuff in the physical world as well as the digital world.
I would say there's a new short story on my blog this week, The Well of Forgiveness, although in this case its more half a short story. Something I started writing before my TIA and which I've not been able to get properly back into since. Orignially inspired by a tweet, its expanded quite a bit since, although theres still more to add, but nothing quite gels at the moment. Perhaps its a case of less is more?
Still the good news is that with no reoccurances over the last 28 days I can finally start driving again. So perhaps throwing my boots and rucksack in the car and returning to one of my old stomping grounds will help.
